Ramaki

An unusual recipe I picked up a long time ago while roaming around the South Pacific. A perfect treat when you have friends over.
Serves 4

Ingredients:
1 small can whole water chestnuts (8 oz)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 lb bacon
1/2 cup soy sauce
Round toothpicks

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
2. Drain and rinse water chestnuts. Marinate in soy sauce for 30 minutes.
3. Cut each slice of bacon into fourths, slicing lengthwise first.
4. Drain water chestnuts. Roll in sugar until coated.
5. Wrap each water chestnut in a slice of the previously prepared bacon. Hold bacon in place with a toothpick.
6. Bake in oven on an aluminum foil lined baking sheet for 20 minutes. Remove and drain on a paper towel.

Notes:
1. Can be microwaved until warm before serving.
